DAY 1: Entebbe and surrounding areas.

A guide/driver from Ajuna tours and travel will pick you from your hotel and drive out to Entebbe.You will be introduced to birding around Entebbe preferable in the Botanical Gardens which produces great results of birding with views of the Great Blue and Ross’s Turacos, Red Chested, Klaas’s and Diederik Cuckoo, Great Reed, Grey Capped, Sedge, Greater Swamp and Eurosuian Reed Warblers, Fain Tailed Widow bird, Striped, Malachite, Giant, Woodland and Pygmy Kingfishers, Black Bishop, Grey Woodpecker, Olive, Olive bellied, Red chested, Superb, Green Throated and Collard Sunbirds, Orange, Yellow Backed, Golden Backed, Slender Billed and Black Headed Weavers, Lizard Buzzard, Grey Kestral, Black Kite, Gaber Goshawk, African Paradise and Red Bellied Paradise and Ashy fly catchers, and many more .Have lunch in Entebbe town and then continue to the Uganda Wildlife Education centre, a home to captive animals.

The educational‐intergenerational centre has got over 250 species of birds which include the rare shoebill stork, parrots, ostriches, and seven species of weavers, such as the rare Northern Masked Weaver and Orange Weaver, among others.

Return to your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up early for breakfast, after which you will be transferred to Mpanga Forest located 37 kilometers from Kampala along the Masaka ‐ Kampala Rd. The forest is endowed with prolific birdlife as well as impressive tree species.

This trail will present to you birds such as the blue breasted king fisher, African pied hornbill, spotted greenbul, black and white casqued hornbill, the great blue Turaco, the African grey parrot, Uganda woodland warblers, among others. Continue to Masaka branching off to Lake Nabugabo ‐ a lagoon lake which was encircled off from Lake Victoria. The lake is endowed with a number of birds most especially water birds such as Herons, Lesser jacana and other water birds. Have lunch in Masaka town continue to Lake Mburo National Park situated in south Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Mburo safari lodge and Acadia lodges.

Day 3: Lake Mburo – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, take an early morning game drive in Lake mburo National Park. The park is surrounded by vast wetlands allowing over 300 species of birds to thrive. Some of the birds that are seen in this park include rare shoebill, stork, African fin foot, pelican, heron among others. Expect to see a number of birds which include water birds, woodland and grassland birds, as well as wetland birds. Lake mburo does not only provide you with birds but also wild animals like the elands, antelopes, zebras, topis, impalas, and several Acacia ‐associated birds.

Take a boat ride on Lake Mburo from where you may see a variety of wetland birds as well as animals such as Hippos. After lunch check out of the Lodge and embark on a 3 and half hour’s journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the beautiful countryside with great sights and scenery. Enjoy the evening game drive through the park as you connect to your Lodges for dinner and overnight. Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Lodge.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, go for an early morning game drive through the park. On the drive you will not only see the wild but also different bird species found in the park. From the open grassy plains, you may see different birds such as the Saddle billed stork, White and Abdims Stork, Brown Snake Eagle, Whalbergs Eagle, Bateleur, African harrier‐hawk, Marsha Eagle and Grey Kestrel among others.

After the drive return to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for your lunch.

In the afternoon after your lunch, the guide/ driver will take you to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise. on the cruise you have a chance to see different animals such as hundreds of hippos, elephants and many migratory bird species, such as the Grey headed Gulls, White winged black Terns, African skimmers, Morning Dove, Water Dikkops, Great white and Pink‐Backed Pelicans, Great and Long‐tailed Cormorants, among others. After this experience the driver will take you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Jacana Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and Birding Transfer To Fort Portal

Wake up early in the morning and go for a morning game drive through the park. This game drive will target early morning risers and predators heading back to their dens after hunting in the night. Expect to have more encounters with Buffaloes, Bush bucks, Elephants, Giant Forest hogs, Hyenas, The Uganda Kobs, Lions and Waterbucks. You will go back to the lodge for relaxation and have lunch. After lunch the driver/guide will transfer you to Fortportal town‐a beautiful town overlooking the legendary mountains of the moon. Visit the Crater lakes region and later transfer to your accommodation establishment for dinner and an overnight at Aramaga rift valley lodge /Crater Valley Kibale.

Day 6: Birding‐ Bigodi Wetlands

The second last day of the safari, wake up, have breakfast and warm up for another great birding experience. Your driver/guide will pick you from your lodge and take you to Bigodi swamp.

Bigodi wetlands sanctuary is one of the best places for birding in Uganda. It is home to 200 bird species and is perfect site for bird watching travelers. The swamp is mainly known for harboring the great blue turaco bird species. Other bird species found in sanctuary include, kingfisher, papyrus gonolek, waxbill, cuckoos, weavers’ birds, hornbill, Flycatcher and so many others. It is also host to several primates and creatures like the swamp antelope (Sitatunga), Bush bucks, Mongooses, Bush pigs and Otters.Expect to be excited by the variety species in Bigodi as you traverse the area. Proceed to the forest for a short walk where you will see different primates, tree species and forest birds. Have a lunch break.

After lunch, visit the Crater Lakes region where you may see birds such as the White Spotted Fluff‐tail, Scaly‐throated Honey‐guide, Blue Headed Coucals, Yellow Billed Barbet among others. Return to your Lodge/Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Fort Portal – Kampala

You will wake up at leisure on this 7th and final day of the safari, have breakfast, the driver will be ready to transfer you back to Kampala. You may have a short city tour around the beautiful Fort portal city, otherwise your journey to Kampala will continue with a stop over at Mubende Town for lunch before continuing to Kampala.
