14 Days Best of Tanzania

This itinerary offers the “ultimate safari” through Tanzania’s most popular Northern Parks, revolving around Ndutu (the birth place of the wildebeest) in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The highlight of this safari will be to experience the “Calving of Wildebeest” which only takes place once a year from January to end of March, an exciting natural phenomenon not to be missed……

DAY 01: Arrival at KILIMANJARO INT. AIRPORT

A warm welcome on your arrival, you will be met and welcomed by your private safari guide who will transfer you to Kia Lodge, a short drive away from the airport. Dinner (payable direct) and overnight at KIA LODGE (BB)

DAY 02: Depart for TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – 2 hrs drive

After a good rest, we are all set for the african adventure, after an early breakfast, your driver/guide will pick you up and then departure for Tarangire National Park. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at TARANGIRE SOPA LODGE (FB)

DAY 03: Full day at TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire is a lovely park and one day is just not enough, we give you a chance of another full day here with unlimited game drives to enjoy. You can opt for a full day out with picnic lunches or you can take the option of early mornings and afternoon game drives, the choice is yours…your guide will be of help at all times to assist you with all the information you need about this park. The park is home to lion, leopard, hyena, herds of elephant, tree climbing python, oryx, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelles but to mention a few. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including the red-billed quellea, kori bustard and ostrich. Baobab Trees are scattered throughout the park. Afternoon game drive in the park.

DAY 04: Depart for LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After a sumptuous breakfast, you proceed to Lake Manyara. You arrive the lodge in time for some hot lunch, after early lunch we take the half day game drive at Lake Manyara National Park known for its tree climbing lions. Later return back to the lodge. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at  KIRURUMU TENTED LODGE (FB)
Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, the compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.

DAY 05: Depart for NDUTU – In Ngorongoro Conservation Area – 3.5 hrs drive

After an early breakfast we start our day by driving to the Lake Ndutu in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ndutu Area is where the sparkle of this itinerary takes place, THE CALVING’’. You shall arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. After a well deserved lunch you take off for the afternoon game drive. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon game viewing. Later return to the lodge, dinner and overnight at NDUTU SAFARI LODGE (FB)

DAYS 06 – 08: Full days in NDUTU

Enjoy extensive game drives in the reserve with the vehicle & guide at your disposal throughout the day. Your period of travel falls during the calving of wildebeest season and you will have a chance to witness this great natural phenomenon of birth of the wildebeest. All meals and overnight at NDUTU SAFARI LODGE (FB)
Most of the wildebeest calves are born in just a three week period, usually the beginning of February. Calves attract predators and this is an amazing time of year to watch impressive lion kills. It`s also quite spectacular to see almost half a million little wildebeest being born and running alongside their mothers. You will find yourself with hundreds of world wildlife Photographer around too.

DAY 09: Depart for SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – Seronera Area –  4.5 hrs drive

After a full 04 days of adventure and unforgettable memories in Ndutu we are now ready to explore the Serengeti Plains. You depart after breakfast. Drive towards the world famous Serengeti National Park. Arrive your lodge in time for lunch. After lunch you can opt to relax or take on an afternoon game drive, as mentioned we provide UNLIMITED game drives at all times so feel free to enjoy this. Dinner and overnight at SERENGETI SOPA LODGE (FB)

DAY 10 – 11: Full days in CENTRAL SERENGETI

Enjoy a full day in the Central Serengeti with unlimited game drives. All meals and overnight at SERENGETI SOPA LODGE. (FB)
Serengeti is one of the most unique wilderness areas of the world, fantastic in its natural beauty and unequalled in its scientific value. This park is a vast expanse of land with a large concentration of plains animals. It also contains a wide variety of bird-life inhabiting a diversity of habitat and vegetation. One of the most unique remarkable scenes is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, gazelle, buffalo and other plains animals.

DAY 12: Depart for NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA – 5-hr drive

Early breakfast and drive to the world famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. The lodge is located at the Crater rim, a perfect location to enjoy the crater view from any point at the lodge. The afternoon you can enjoy relaxing by the pool over-looking the crater or you can also do various activities like nature walks, cycling etc which can all be arranged at the hotel reception at an extra minimum cost. DAY 13: NGORONGORO CRATER Tour

After an early breakfast we descend for the crater floor with packed lunch for half a day crater tour. A moment that you have been waiting for to explore the Crater. Later afternoon we ascend and return to your lodge. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE – (FB)
The Ngorongoro Crater and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are without a doubt some of the most beautiful parts of Tanzania, steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. This protected area is located in the Great Rift Valley and also known as the eighth wonder of the world. The Crater actually is a gigantic fracture of the earth’s crust. The magnificent landscape consists of volcanoes, mountains, plains, lakes, forests and archaeological sites. At 1600 meters altitude the bottom of the Crater (265 km square), dotted with watering holes, offers shelter to almost 30.000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. The Crater elephants are strangely, mainly bulls. There is a small number of black rhino. The bird life is largely seasonal and is also affected by the ratio of soda and fresh water on the Crater floor. You will also explore the wildlife: lions, elephants, zebra, hippo, buffalos, and rhino are just a few to be mentioned.

DAY 14: Drive back to Kilimanjaro International Airport & departure

Wake up to the crater view, and after a leisure breakfast at your lodge drive back to Arusha via scenic landscape and onwards transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You can have a short stop-over in Arusha for lunch.
A warm goodbye from your guide as you depart back home taking with you the unforgettable memories….!!
