The Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a sumptuous, forested reserve, a rare tropical forest that is home to a realm of unique plants, birds and animals & the sacred preserve of hikers and walkers. These forests are remarkably unspoiled, a wilderness of extremely beautiful woodland routes – with no driving tracks at all, brings walkers to the spectacular 170m drop of Sanje Waterfalls. The park is a home to an important population of primates (10 species- more than any of Tanzania’s other parks) as well as the grey-faced sengi.

Mikumi’s landscape provides a serene wildlife experience, commonly seen animals include Elephants, Giraffes, Zebrass, Antelope, Wildebeests, Elans, Crocodiles, Hippos and Baboons. If luck is in your favor, you won’t miss seeing Lions and possibly Leopards. Mikumi also inhabits over 300 species of birds namely the saddle bill stork, hammer kop, malachite kingfisher, lilac breasted roller, yellow throated long claw, battler eagle etc.
