Detail Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kanombe Airport in Rwanda, you are met by our Airport Rep and briefed on your adventure to Rwanda. On arrival a late lunch will be served in the main lodge, with its scenic vistas of the Virunga Volcanoes, of the Parc National des Volcans. Afternoon at leisure to settle in and acclimatize and perhaps an afternoon guided bird walk in the surrounds of the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorillas View Lodge/ or to a similar accommodation
An early breakfast, served at the lodge, before departing by road to the Parc National des Volcans headquarters. Here you will be allocated a guide for one of the habituated Mountain Gorilla families and given a safety briefing. You will then be taken by vehicle to a starting point, to commence your gorilla trek in the forest. The amount of time spent walking is dependant upon which family of Gorillas you are allocated to and where they are to be found on that day. Once the family is sighted you will spend a maximum of one hour with the Gorilla family. After this phenomenal wildlife experience, return to your vehicle on the edge of the forest, returning to Sabyinyo Silverback lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorillas View Lodge/ or to a similar accommodation
After breakfast, you will report to the headquarters for a visit of the golden monkeys. A visit to the golden monkeys is very different experience from gorilla-viewing, the monkeys react and interact differntly; they will keep on playing hide-and-seek much to the delight of the visitors. The golden monkeys live only in the Virunga conseravtion area. They have been well habituated and there are 2 troups. The Kabatwa troop is located not so far from the park headquarters and the Musanga troop lives near the Karisimbi and has a much longer walking distance. Another experience with excellent photo opportunities!
On your way to Kigali several stops will be made to admire the scenery. Rwanda is the country of the thousand hills! Overnight in Kigali at The Kigali Serena Hotel on bed and breakfast/or to similar lodge
Early breakfast then transfer back to Kigali Airport for your scheduled flight to Arusha. On arrival you will be met at Kilimanjaro Airport and drive via Arusha town to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. After lunch take an afternoon game drive in the park, famous for its prolific bird-life and other inhabitants such as hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions. Return to the camp for dinner and Over night at Losirwa Tented Camp/ wildlife camp full board basis.
Breakfast then drive through the Ngorongoro highlands to Serengeti National Park. This enormous park supports every variety of animal imaginable – from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the smaller herbivores they prey on. Overnight at Mbalageti Tented Camp/Savannah on full board basis.
Breakfast at your lodge. Morning and afternoon game drives. More than two million wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle and zebra gather during the migration, attracting a great deal of attention from their predators such as lion, hyena, cheetah and leopard. Overnight at Mbalageti Tented Camp/Savannah camp on full board basis.
Breakfast at your lodge, drive via Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue through the Ngorongoro Highlands to your lodge situated on the rim of the crater. The crater covers over 102 square miles (250 square kilometres) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge on half board basis/ or a similar lodge .
Breakfast at the lodge. Today you will descend 2000 feet (0ver 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open Savannah where the lions hunt for food. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge on full board basis/or to a similar lodge
Breakfast at your lodge. Drive back to Arusha for lunch. After lunch transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Arrive back in Nairobi at 15h00 you will be met and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Fair view Hotel on bed and breakfast.or similar hotel
After breakfast d down the eastern escarpment of the magnificent Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park best known for its flamingos. It is a home to many animals including waterbuck, leopards and Rothschild giraffe. The park is also a sanctuary for black rhinos. Afternoon game drive. Overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp on full board basis/ or a similar hotel.
After breakfast traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spear Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. You find the Masai giraffe Marin this park. Afternoon game drive in the Mara, famous for the Wildebeest and Zebra migration and its abundance of wildlife. Overnight at Olonana on full board basis./or similar hotel
Full days in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drive in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. Game includes: – elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant cheetah, hippo, crocodile and much more. Another early morning game drive to complete your list of Kenyan sightings. Return to the lodge for breakfast and thereafter drive back to Nairobi to connect onto your onward flight.
