The 7 Days 6 Nights Machame Route is one of the most popular and rewarding ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters). Commonly known as the “Whiskey Route,” it is famous for its breathtaking scenery, varied landscapes, and excellent acclimatization profile. Unlike the Marangu Route, which uses mountain huts, the Machame Route is a fully supported camping trek, allowing climbers to experience the wilderness of Kilimanjaro while enjoying spectacular views throughout the journey. The seven-day itinerary is widely recommended because the extra acclimatization day significantly improves the chances of reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

Starting from the southwestern side of the mountain, the route passes through lush rainforest, giant heather and moorland, the dramatic Shira Plateau, the famous Lava Tower, the challenging Barranco Wall, and the alpine desert before reaching the glacier-covered summit. Every day offers different landscapes, making the Machame Route one of the most scenic trekking experiences on Mount Kilimanjaro.

At Adventure Makers Tanzania, we provide experienced mountain guides, certified porters, professional cooks, quality camping equipment, and personalized service to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable adventure.
