Just twelve bandas share this entire private island, spaced along a stretch of beach beneath casuarina trees with nothing between guests and the ocean — the open-air design does away with doors and windows altogether. Each banda has its own outdoor shower and a shaded veranda built for afternoon siestas, and a dedicated butler looks after most of the day’s logistics before you think to ask.
The house reef is the real draw for many guests: Mnemba’s coral is some of the healthiest in the region, and diving or snorkelling right off the beach is part of daily life here rather than an excursion. Meals lean light and fresh, served in a thatched dining area with open views across the sand, and the island’s conservation program — reef restoration, turtle monitoring, plastic-free operations — runs quietly in the background of the whole stay.
