Lake Eyasi Accommodation | Adventure Makers Tanzania
Where To Stay

A soda lake, a rift wall, and the Hadzabe

Lake Eyasi sits at the southern edge of the Rift Valley, where the Serengeti’s plains drop away below the escarpment. It’s a quieter, more cultural add-on to a northern circuit safari — best known for guided time with the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and the Datoga tribe, rather than for game drives. There are only two lodges worth considering here, and both are set up for exactly that kind of stay.

Below are the two properties we work with at Lake Eyasi. Tell us your budget and travel dates, and our team will build the rest of your Tanzania itinerary around the one that fits.

Lake Eyasi

Two lodges, one quiet corner of the Rift Valley

Both properties sit above or beside the lake with views across the valley floor, and both build their stay around cultural walks with local tribes rather than conventional game drives.

Ziwani Lodge

Escarpment above Lake Eyasi, Rift Valley

A fully off-grid eco-lodge perched on the escarpment above the lake, running entirely on solar and wind power. Just seven cottages take their design cues from local architecture, using minimal glazing to stay naturally cool and keep guests connected to the surrounding Rift Valley scenery. A pool and small library round out an intentionally low-key stay.
